When a machine designer needs more force but has no room for a bigger bore, HINAKA's DJ2T multi-stage pneumatic cylinder is often the answer. Here is how the patented design works, and where it fits.
I. The Space Problem With Bigger Bores
The straightforward way to get more force from a pneumatic cylinder is a bigger bore. But a bigger bore means a bigger cylinder body — and on a compact machine, tool magazine or automation cell, that space often does not exist.
II. Same-Diameter Pistons, Linked in Series
DJ2T's patented design links two or more same-diameter pistons on a single, one-piece piston rod, all pressurised together. Each piston contributes its own force to the same output, so the total force multiplies without the bore growing at all.
III. Where It Is Used
DJ2T suits any application where the force requirement has outgrown a single-stage cylinder but the available space has not: compact automation cells, tool-magazine mechanisms, and machine sections where a larger single-bore cylinder simply will not fit.
IV. Selecting a DJ2T
Tell us the force you need and the space available via Contact Us — we will confirm the bore size and number of sections required.
